Jeskola, the developer famous for the Buzz Machines modular software you may have heard of, has just made his excellent XS-1 sample player (formerly a $99 purchase) donationware, which means you can download and use it for free then donate what you choose, if you choose.
XS-1 can load .XS1 (for Buzz Machines), .SF2 and .WAV. SoundFonts are fully supported, unlike many sample players that can play back SoundFonts but not take advantage of all embedded information. It offers 16 parts and keyboard splits. And polyphony is nothing to worry about either, as it has a ridiculously high 1,000 note maximum! If you have trouble with polyphony with the XS-1, just contact Oskari Tammelin, the developer, for a full refund. Or better yet, contact him to say "THANKS!" for deciding to make this software available to all comers.

Synthesis features:
- Unlimited number of key and velocity zones per voice.
